The Son is always shining, regardless of the weather

I love Chic-fil-A…I love free food!

Last Wednesday (after prayer meeting), I was talking with a group of ladies. A sweet friend of mine asked me if I was going to Chic-fil-A the following morning for their free breakfast. I smiled, and told her we were planning on being there. It was then mentioned: “CC loves Chic-fil-A”. I quickly added, “Yep, I love Chic-fil-A, but I also love free food.” Then, it was explained how we dressed up like cows (see post)…for free food. I was thinking as we left: “Hmmmm….I wonder what the visitor in that group, whom I don’t know so well, must think about me—based on that short conversation we just had.”

Well, we picked up free, yummy breakfast on Thursday morning. They were giving it away to advertise the fact that they now sell breakfast! Tonight, a week later, we hesitantly headed out to a fundraiser for ACS at Chic-fil-A. I say “hesitantly” because we wanted to help, but we usually only eat out once or twice a month. So, this outing would make two, and I knew it would be a sacrifice. We agreed to only get water with our sandwiches and fries. We arrived, and I proceeded to order. The manager recognized us as “the homeschool family that was there two weeks ago with another homeschool family”. He’s good…so much for anonymity.

Come to think of it, the reason we were there two weeks ago was because the manager gave my friend, K, some free sandwich coupons. She had inquired about their grand opening, and found out that people were already camped out days before it opened. I guess neither one of us was willing to spend the night at Chic-fil-A (They evidently hand out awesome prizes…like free Chick-fil-A for a year!). We obviously didn’t love it as much as some! However, the kind manager gave her free coupons—enough for both of our families. Now, wasn’t that sweet?

Getting back to our visit tonight, the manager told us that he was homeschooled. So, we were finishing our dinner (20% going to Relay), and he came over and bought (and brought) each of us dessert…shakes, brownies, lemon pie! We were loving this fellow homeschool, dessert-bearing dude! Isn’t the LORD good. He gives us more than we ask for, or really need…like dessert!

Psalm 34:8  “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

(BTW…this is Tim Hawkins favorite Bible verse, and I guess I’m not the only one who loves Chick-fil-A!) Enjoy!
